The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We are looking for an inspirational leader with personal lived experience to join our Business Operations Team. You will be leading our strategic and developmental approaches to building supportive and inclusive peer support services. This position will enhance our current achievements and establish us as a premier provider of peer support services. The role can be based in either Auckland, Wellington, or Hamilton. Some travel will be required.

As a leader, you will support our kaimahi in using recovery tools, peer models, and practices to inspire resilience, hope, and well-being. Our rights and values-based peer-led services empower peers to share their personal lived experiences of mental distress and/or addiction challenges, fostering hope and personal growth to inspire others in their recovery journey.

In this role you’ll:

  • Provide supportive and effective leadership to enhance and grow our peer workforce and support services
  • Collaborate within organizational systems to advance peer practice development, including workforce development and peer work models.
  • Offer leadership supervision to our peer managers, ensuring they are supported and empowered in their roles.
  • Drive the impact of peer work and contribute to building an emergent evidence base showcasing its benefits.
  • Lead the strategic development of peer approaches within Pathways and the broader peer community.
  • Represent Pathways within the peer community and support the advancement of peer support across the mental health and addictions sector.

This is a permanent full-time leadership role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. The role can be based in Auckland, Hamilton or Wellington.

About You | Mōu

  • You use your lived experience to inform your practices and leadership.
  • Completion of a NZ recognised Peer Support training programme.
  • Extensive knowledge of peer knowledge, values, and practices.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the MHA sector and a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Knowledge of the articles of Te Tiriti and commitment to supporting Pathways to being an exemplary treaty partner.
  • Strategic Peer leadership.
