Occupational Therapist - Rural North Sector

Where you’ll be working: Manāki Centre - Hauraki and Maanaki Raatonga aa Iwi - Hamilton

The details: Permanent - 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)

• Be part of the national transformation in Health with specific focus on recovery in mental health and addictions
• Live and Work in either the amazing Hauraki-Coromandel or Waikato

This is an exciting opportunity to redevelop the occupational therapy input to Hauraki mental health and addictions services. This position will be split between the Manāki Centre based in Thames and Maanaki Raatonga aa iwi in Hamilton in order to provide professional support, development and continuity of care. The position will ideally suit someone with established mental health and addictions skills and experience.

Working closely with Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki, we cover the continuum of care from primary-level community healthcare to advanced, highly specialised, secondary care, for Adult Mental Health, Addictions, ICAMHS Services from several locations. We aim to deliver mental health and wellbeing care in our locality that improves outcomes for Māori and wellbeing for all whānau.

Manaaki Centre – Thames

Maanaki Raatonga aa iwi – Hamilton

Occupational Therapy community team are part of Adult Community Mental Health Services based in Hamilton. We encourage personal growth by developing skills in partnership with whānau and wider community. Staff mix are occupational therapists and support workers. We focus on individual recovery goals. We offer a range of group and individual opportunities supporting social inclusion, living well, sensory modulation and vocational goals.

Mōu | About you

You will need to be a registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for working in the Mental Health and Addictions sector.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

• Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• A commitment and passion to work with tāngata whaiora and their whānau
• Demonstrate a strong recovery focus
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Have a current annual practicing certificate
• Hold a current full drivers licence
