Te Pou is hosting a series of online workshops for support workers working in mental health and addiction services. The theme of the webinars is Engagement – Building trust and connection with people you are supporting.
Asian Family Services will be delivering a 2-hour session on working with people from different Asian communities who are experiencing mental health challenges and problematic substance use.
Topics include, understanding Asian populations in Aotearoa, understanding how the Asian community experience mental health challenges and problematic substance use and ways to engage with people and whānau that recognises cultural differences.
These webinars are a chance to refresh your knowledge and reflect on how you engage and connect with people in your support worker role.
