Let's get real: Forum for educators Trauma focus (virtual)

Let’s get real is a framework that describes the values, attitudes, knowledge and skills required for working effectively with people and whānau experiencing mental health and addiction needs. Developed by the Ministry of Health in 2008 and refreshed by Te Pou following sector consultation in 2018 Let's get real is a framework that can be used by all health care services, regardless of context, organisation, roles, or professions.

This session has a focus on trauma, and will cover the following:

- Let’s get real and trauma informed approaches

- Incorporating trauma informed strategies into education programmes

- Workforce resources to support learning

Every interaction in health education and training presents opportunities to develop and enhance health workers' understanding and application of the Let's get real values, attitudes and seven Real Skills.
