Kia Mataara peer training programme

This is the first Te Pou-run Kia Mataara peer training programme for the Aotearoa consumer, peer support, and lived experience (CPSLE) workforce.

Originally developed by Pathways, Kia Mataara peer training is a unique programme that delicately weaves te ao Māori principles with the national CPSLE competencies. The result is a rich and considered training experience specific to Aotearoa New Zealand that provides valuable skills, knowledge, and insights for the mental health and addiction peer workforce.

The Kia Mataara programme takes twelve weeks to complete and features:

  • two in-person workshops
  • five virtual workshops
  • reflective workplace practices and learnings
  • one-on-one professional conversations.

Participants must be able to commit to the full programme. The first in-person workshop will take place in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 May.

This training sits outside our funded work programme, therefore, there will be a fee to participate. The investment to complete Kia Mataara is $2050 +GST.
